In the end of 2017, Dr. Zheng Yang visited the ENCRYPTO research group led by Dr. Thomas Schneider at Technischen Universität (TU) Darmstadt for two months, in October and November. The ENCRYPTO group is one of the leading research groups in the world on investigating models, languages, and tools for security and privacy. In TU Darmstadt, Dr. Yang worked with the researchers of the group on designing an efficient privacy-preserving Wifi fingerprint based indoor localization scheme. He also bridged the people from University of Helsinki (UH), Tampere University of Technology (TUT), and TUD together to solve this challenging problem. As a result of this visit and collaboration, they proposed a new solution that will be submitted to a leading security conference in the near future.
INSURE mobility actions continue also in 2018. Dr. Philipp Richter is currently visiting Universitat Jaume I (UJI) in Spain for one month doing research in collaboration with the GEOTEC group (http://geotec.uji.es/). The topic is within RSS-based fingerprinting localization, and in particular: outlier detection and integrity monitoring of RSS fingerprinting databases with the final goal of mitigating the effects of erroneous data in the fingerprint databases on the positioning performance.
