The INSURE/DELTA Summer School on “Cybersecurity in Localization” successfully took place in Espoo, at the Aalto University, on May 22-24. During the three days, students of master’s and doctoral programs as well as experts from companies, agencies and authorities had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in cybersecurity issues and vulnerabilities in geospatial data and localization.
The summer school featured lecturers from the project partners (Finnish Geospatial Research Institute , University of Helsinki, and Tampere University of Technology) and international guest speakers from Stanford University, Politecnico di Torino, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, KU Leuven, The European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats, u-Blox Ltd and Here Technologies. The lectures covered topics such as threats in localization, GNSS, signals of opportunity, integrity and reliability, information security, and legal issues in positioning.
During the evenings, participants had also the chance to enjoy the lovely Finnish weather. Sauna and a game of mölkky concluded the first day of the summer school, and a lovely cruise in Helsinki archipelago was the perfect set for the summer school dinner on the second evening.
